Massive twin study provides no evidence for SES modification of IQ test scores: https://scihub22266oqcxt.onion.link/http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2017/11/07/1708491114.short … HT @NoamJStein

They say "We found no evidence of SES moderation of genetic influence on test scores" in the abstract.

Okay, thanks. The deeper (and more discomforting) point was indeed obfuscated by my gloss.

While the effect of the shared environment is generally small in that study, they report models in the appendix that provide some support for SES moderation of shared environmental effects, with generally but not universally larger shared environmental effects for high-SES twins.pic.twitter.com/dFHceK6jHh

Fwiw imo partly because U.S. has already gathered most of the low-hanging fruit in avoiding early damage to IQ -- lead paint, iodine/folate/etc, basic early childhood education, etc. Flynn effect halted here. Still ongoing elsewhere; suspect SES interaction significant there.
