Industrial prowess wins total wars. Domestic media lose counter-insurgency wars. Which wars get tilted decisively by Asabiyyah?
Reactionaries can't get enough Asabiyyah -- so is there any evidence it has ever won a modern war?

The importance of the question is obvious. If Asabiyyah doesn't really matter very much, commercial-robotic militaries will probably do OK.

@_Hurlock_ @PorphyConob Red America WAS defeated (by the Cathedral, at home). It makes no sense in 4GW to exclude the media as a factor.
-
@Outsideness @_Hurlock_ yeah, but this is where Asa. adherents would say "that illustrates loss of Asa. and its effects," I think. - 1 more reply

@existoon It needs to be sufficient to provide the enemy media time to do its work, certainly. No evidence it can do the job on its own.

@Outsideness several such victories of smaller "nationalist" powers vs. larger, internally divided powers. -
@PorphyConob So once tech superiority and then 4GW factors are scraped off, what would be your candidate for the most prominent example?

@Magus_Janus@Outsideness Era of Big War selects for upsizing asabiyya; era of decline of war enables political downsizing -
@whyvert@Magus_Janus America has done great in the era of (pre-4GW) big war, with comparatively low asabiyya.

@Outsideness The west's asabiyyah started declining and guerillas started actually winning, so you can credit it for domestic media issues -
@marxistnixonist You really think the concept can do this much work?
