"... Noam Chomsky, who is a boyish idealist, like a Jimmy Stewart character of the left, said Foucault struck him as 'completely amoral.'"https://www.takimag.com/article/the-whip-hand/ …

It does make a lot of sense to interpret postmodernism as a philosophical framework for psychopathy. PoMo and Theory are pretty much the kind of rationalizations an amoral nutjob would come up with to justify indulging in their perversions...

Psychopaths don't need to work that hard to rationalize their behavior. My impression and principal problem with Foucault's philosophy is that it is fundamentally misanthropic. Its more that his sexual obsessions dictate his cynical view of human relations

Honestly, just setting a link to UR with a note: "foucault was saying what this guy was saying, but in 1970s Frenchie academese" probably does the trick

I'm not a Foucault scholar. My problem with the piece is that it is full of cheap personal takedowns which, while in some cases deserved, do not serve as a Foucault 101 as much as a "check out this piece of shit". I daresay the latter is more what Taki readers find appealing

I know alot about foucault and agree that people get him wrong and that he is in many ways totally misused and misunderstood but saying that someone with AIDS killed countless homosexual men when you clearly have am antipathy for gay men is a cheap and shit point
