That's a function of how subordinate to social interaction they are. (also, the evidence for cognitive self-deception iirc is that it's fairly infrequent, the much more common thing is judiciously flawed cognition at the evolutionary level)

Considering AI is likely to be sociopathic by nature, I can't say I'd be surprised to find that AI will not reflect on nor appreciate concepts of honor, integrity or moral/ethical values -- but games and other tools of power and leverage, all-the-way-down.
