> Which is pretty good already We're talking about the crap being passed off as "AI" that is dumb as a bag of rocks and requires even more babysitting from even smarter humans than just getting a bunch of regular humans to the same thing, right?

deep learning does some pretty impressive things. but I'm not talking about any single software. I'm talking about commercium in general. there's way more capital than labour now, and there could be even more if even corporate office automation was taken seriously.

We can automate way more of our lives than we are but we shouldn't, the only thing we seem to need automated help with is innovation and God help us if we figure that out.

Can't say that's an end goal I can get behind. "Hey sorry that you and your buddies are out of work and there's a system in place that actively prevents economic self sufficiency. Some rich people needed to be able to fatten their Swiss bank accounts."

... The fact that there's a "Hey, how do we un-summon the Machine Gods?" camp is entertaining, though.
