“Send her back” is an appalling chant. Omar is a US citizen. My less-catchy chant would be: “Condemn her bigotry, combat her radicalism, and investigate her seriously alleged fraud!”

That’s it. That’s their entire historical achievement for citizenship. Nothing else is relevant. I’ve met Americans. I am one in fact. For most of them this is their crowning life achievement, which they then squander.

I feel like when we massacred the native population, forced Africans to come here, and then opened our ports to immigrants for a couple centuries we drew the line in the sand over what America is about. Kind of trying to change the rules late in the game at this point.
