... The Guardian line, of course, is if you can just throw enough ideology at any awkward system of facts, it will just go away.

It’s remarkable even to see acknowledgement that such programs could “fail”. But how could progressives know if such a failure occurred? They always find a way to insure against recognizing falsifying facts by ‘reframing success’ or whatever (ideological re-engineering).

They only failed because people didn't want them to work enough. Then they fail some more despite intensified scolding. Then the whole edifice comes crashing down.
