So they decided 'overproduction' is a problem. Big WTF moment for me. But basically it's mandated that most jobs are wasteful lest there be all this spare labour for entrepreneurs to use.

See also: if half the economy is a self-licking ice cream cone, everyone could cut their hours to 20/week without any loss of standard of living. There is no actual problem with doing so, except the artificial legal barriers.
