Christianity does not have to be literally true to be beneficial too population of humans. Christians think so but they also think god is a human-mind-shaped spirit who loves them. What Christians think about their beliefs vs their pragmatic implications are 2 different questions

Do you believe that all the historical records of right now are accurate? I don’t believe the news, there’s no reason to believe history, even meticulously transmitted history, is accurate when the claim it’s making is so spectacularly unlikely.
