I think techno capital emerged as a result of the plague. The death of quite a number of people created abundance for the survivors and a growth trajectory that lead to the start of the renaissance which in turn lead to colonialism. Which then lead to capitalism.

While certainly a relevant factor, the black death wasn't the first instance of people dying in epic proportions, it wasn't even the first instance of the plague doing that My point here is, you can't deny the role of christianity and its consequences for modernity

The Renaissance started before Protestantism though. What coincided with it is the creation of the first Merchant banks in the 14th-15th century (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medici_Bank …). I would even argue that Protestantism was caused by the Renaissance esp. church spending...
