... Last serious bid for a non-fascist US presidency was Goldwater (or non-serious, Ron Paul).

The translation here is that he agrees with Marxist-Leninists on presuppositions- but as a Right Libertarian, he inverts them- so Fascism becomes "Leftist" -- like when Boomer made Obama is Hitler signs.

Fascism is right of Full-Communism and left of Old Liberalism, and everyone -- including the fascists -- knows that. It's the militant middle of the road, aka "the third position". Generational power plays don't change any of this.

that's a very idiosyncratic definition of left and right and you know it, fascism doesn't oppose the "natural" hierarchy implicitly endorsed in old liberalism (that would be a step to its left), it just affirms collective political violence as its legitimate expression

It calls itself the goddamn third position. How idiosyncratic can it be? ...

well first of all that's itself only the name of a subset of fascism, and also, "third" and "middle" do not by any necessity mean the same thing (don't third positionists themselves emphasize that they are *beyond* left and right, rather than *between*?)

to be clear i don't buy into the rhetoric of third positionists, but if we were to take them seriously we'd surely get into that territory, yes
