this sounds weirdly like neorationalism (which I suspected, and expected to, but didn't have any confirmation yet)

how? just because it involves math?

no, the necessity of concepts (and thus language). also, a belief in the recuperation of logic from its 20th century catastrophe.

Logic has never been more relevant, because of the direct link to computer science. And that necessity is really just a casual fact exemplified by the Berry Paradox. https://arxiv.org/abs/0809.0151

yeah, you see, that first part is exactly the neorat program. that second one is more widespread in philosophy, so maybe it's just coincidence.

I personally (and I think the u/acc people tend to agree) disagree with both propositions. computer science isn't about logic, and a conceptual "language of the mind" is one of the main pitfalls of philosophy, getting in the way of actual thought.

rather, computation is about thermodynamics (negentropy generation) and thought abounds in the noumenal world, unaided by any conceptual framework. language is just the trap that we cannot but fall into, it's quintessential human tragedy.

@Outsideness >and thought abounds in the noumenal world, unaided by any conceptual framework. could you try explaining to me how that is *not* transvested transcendentism? for u/acc "trust in the Bibl-, I mean, The Process" = immanentism "nullius in verba" = transcendentism ???3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
http://www.ufblog.net/crypto-current-002/ … forgot to mention this for whatever reason, but this is essentially the maneuver I'm criticising here and Girard provides the closest (and most developed) thing I know of to the alternative methodology.pic.twitter.com/qLjJIpRTi5
