we swapped blogspots on before but I never got ur position: do u deny the relevance of the earth's past climate cycles or the continuing failure of the models as far as i'm concerned climate scientists are very srs people - nearly as srs as the physicists working on the tokamak

We know atmospheric CO2 levels are up dramatically. We know temperatures are up. We have a good theory on how CO2 (and other gases) could make temps rise. I know climate has varied a lot in the past, but between strong correlation + mechanism I'd say human causation is likely.

That said, we all know that concern about global warming is just pushed by people of coldness trying to force their climate values on everyone else. Whitey just wants more ski resorts.

the earth goes thru glacial periods, the earth is gonna continue to warm and sea levels continue to rise until we hit the inflection point and move into the next ice age

That's the big picture, for sure, but you're not suggesting that the realistically predicted climatic effect of CO2 liberation is zero (are you)?

it seems unreasonable that it should be zero, doesn't it? The greenhouse analogy is so striking! yet it's also unreasonable that after 30 yrs the models still have no predictive power...

It's actually pretty reasonable for it to be zero or close enough because the amount of energy escaping to space in the absorption band of CO2 is already pretty much zero.

The only significant effect increasing CO2 density has is changing the temperature gradient - the upper atmosphere cools a bit, and the lower warms, because it's absorbed closer to the ground.

The other problem is that all the other planets in the solar system are experiencing warming and cooling trends that are uncannily close to what Earth is seeing. E.g. they also all experienced the 'pause'.

Sure, but stereotype threat explains that.
