The amount of tax-happy statism on the contemporary 'right' is beyond weird. Did something happen to make people forget that governments screw up everything they do?

As it turns out, most people in the west now just want a powerful state to hurt the lives of [people who aren’t them] - right and left are just what we call the flavors of their immigration policy.

There will always be a boot on a throat. I would rather be wearing the boot than having my throat crushed..

The question is only, do you want it to be a big boot, or a little boot?

The rub is that you can not guarantee who will be wearing the boot. And most of the time it will not be you, statistically.

Agreed. I would prefer the State be abolished and everything be voluntary. But I honestly don't think it's gonna happen.

So, if that isn't an option, I want to do my best to be the one wearing the boot. I'm not gonna refuse to vote or participate in politics because I hate the State.

Abolishing democracy in any way practicable makes perfect sense. Hulking up the state just in time to hand it over to the enemy -- not so much.

That’s sort of the thing - and I’m all for fighting to make sure you’re wearing the boot - but using it then to do the same thing the other guy was going to do anyway is a massive mistake.
