Goldberg was basically right on this. The only debunking -- from any side -- has been vacuous snark. Just because his argument is unfashionable doesn't make it false.

The primary characteristic of fascism and Nazism was anti-communism. Arguing over whether they were left or right or centrist is silly. They were practical and intended to benefit their people. And quite effective at doing so.
