Is Bolsonaro is advocating for freelance death squads which operate without any sanction from the state?

He's not advocating death squads at all. As far as I can tell, he's just promising not to weep in public if the cops cut up a bit rough.

Replying to @Outsideness @Alrenous
He said that they should let police kill criminals. Seems like he's saying something a bit stronger than "I won't cry in public" tbqh.

it's unlikely he will get to do anything. cops already cut up pretty roughly, and it has only worsened the whole violence problem, because - as I said elsewhere - police already act as parts of criminal gangs.

"supporting" discourse is mostly irrelevant, tbqh. unless you're applying resources to a regime, it's just empty signaling.

That's true. Comments like "hehe there's nothing wrong with throwing commies out of helicopters xD" and "let's just kill criminals xD" are mostly just impotent signaling, but that doesn't mean they have no political content.

They're primarily intended to deepen the sense that a shared society is impossible, on both sides.

Replying to @Outsideness @_leftcat and
... To move from reciprocal "I'm going to force you to do X" to mutual "We need to split" is the ultimate advance in coordination.
