    South Africa urgently needs another “reset”. We need sweeping structural reforms – a radical change to the “rules of the game”. The DA is not alone in calling for this change. Tito Mboweni warned last month: “If you cannot effect deep structural economic reforms, then game over!”

    Fellow South Africans. This is not the country you were promised. This is not the freedom they spoke about. And this is certainly not the way our democracy is meant to work. -

    Upington is also a place where bucket toilets can still be found, despite continuous promises to eradicate them. Just recently the municipality had to return R22 million earmarked for the eradication of bucket toilets because it had failed to spend it.

    The Dawid Kruiper Municipality has been short on power since a high voltage transformer on a main power line burned last week Wednesday. It is suspected that the transformer blew as a direct result of the Eskom load shedding.
