Any other city agency so unsuccessful at its stated goals wld have long been taken to task, put under new leadership & eventually defunded. Every time they use crime stats to justify their massive budget, we shld all ask why we’re funding them if they can’t solve these problems

We must fully fund education & GVP orgs doing the ground work while divesting in the police. Without established trust, increased policing only escalates and worsens the situation.

Exactly. A 2020 1% cut to NYPD and a 32% cut to the Dpt of Youth & Community Services speaks volumes. Is arresting folks more important than finding young people jobs during a pandemic? Lives will continue to be lost unless resources are given to those most impacted.

This is Our Everyday. Our everyday reality is filled with constant heart-rending loss. Our everyday is our most innocent facing preventable deaths. Our communities are neglected &grieving these losses. It's time to bring the same urgency of the COVID crisis to the GV epidemic.

We are *never* going to criminalize our way into safety. We need a president who will work with our communities to build an everyday that works for all of us.

We're fighting Engel's lawsuit because every ballot cast should be counted. Thanks to you, we've raised $16,743 for legal fees, but we must reach our $25,000 goal by midnight tomorrow to keep our legal team staffed to capacity. Will you chip in $5?

Zip code should not determine life expectancy. Every community nationwide deserves to be invested in.

Her grief is unimaginable. Imagine if lawmakers cared about everyday gun violence years ago. Neglect of communities of color result in devastating experiences. Tragedies like this are uniquely an American problem.

He was the second child lost to one mother over three months. Why is this mother wondering what SHE did to have this happen to her? No parent should know the trauma of losing one child, let alone two.

“I saw regular, everyday people brutalized on the streets of Ferguson. I saw people arrested for what felt like no reason at all. I saw people beaten unconscious for the mere act of raising their voices in the name of justice for Black folks.”

TW: Police Brutality As you know, last Sunday night we organized a protest at the Florissant PD, where they've been especially brutal w/ protestors. That's not going to stop me though. I'll be out there on the streets every single day until we have true justice & freedom for all.

There was no reason for attempting to shoot her dog several times and this girl was shot in both legs instead. Her pain was 100% preventable. Too many of our children are wounded and killed from gun related accidents.

I am still heartbroken over Breonna Taylor. Her killing was devastating for so many, but what it represents and what has followed has caused pain that will impact generations. I will keep saying her name. I will keep fighting to honor it.
