I'm not even a big fan I'm just being honest and pragmatic. He's the guy to do it.

I think he is a serious contender but don't you think Jess Phillips, given the right support network, would be a candidate who could connect with the electorate?
-
She's excellent and definitely should be on the front bench but Johnson needs to be taken down by a better brain. He needs to be publicly dismantled at PMQs every single week and Starmer is that person

Do you not think too London-centric?

I love Jess Phillips but I'm not convinced she's the assassin that needs to be sent

He'd be my personal choice. Labour need somebody who can forensically dismantle the deluge of bullshit which will be heading their way. He used to terrify Steve Barclay, so much so he managed to get an immediate retraction from him. Though I fear it'll be Long-Bailey.
-
Sadly, I reckon if it's Long Bailey, Labour's truly over.

Kier Starmer will clinically dissect Johnson's lies and failings every week in PMQs. But it will have zero impact on the new-blue base. What's needed is a larger than life character to tear him a new one each week. Jess Phillips seems best placed for that role
-
Starmer as Leader, Phillips as Home Secretary, Long- Bailey in a Treasury job, Angela Rayner still in Education, David Lammy on the front bench, Yvette Cooper somewhere useful! For instance....
