The Māori peoples, as opposed to Oz First Nations' ppls, have also had legal rights in New South Wales for many many many years.
There was a study (can't remember the source sorry, I think in the 2000s) on whiteness in Oz, that found recent white Brit immigrants who took Oz citizenship were more likely to be pro Aboriginal rights than those who didn't.
