I would have loved to be there! It is ironic that this situation reproduced the same issues of epistemic justice that have informed so much of my work
Absolutely. And goes to your writing of how your work has been commodified in many ways, including as a slogan to sell stuff.
So @SydWritersFest. 1/ Why not invite @redlightvoices? Is it because she has no current book to sell? Flavia Dzodan writes every day here & elsewhere...
What is a writer, then @SydWritersFest, in 2018? @redlightvoices' work that was discussed today was self published on #Tumblr & diffused through social media. Good enough to sell tickets to a panel using her work. But not a papercopy book, therefore not invited to the festival?
2/ @SydWritersFest the Diaz incident was not public until last night, & good the Festival cancelled his sessions. But the Festival paid to host a Latino author, but did not think to invite & pay a Latina @redlightvoices whilst using her work. Why?
Make this right in 2019.
