Prof @marcialangton was wonderful. She discussed how the background to Welcome to Country begins with non-Indigenous Australians' inability to engage and recognise our national prehistory, which dates back 65,000 years. Prof @marcialangton has always travelled, including as an 18 year old volunteer with Dr Fred Hollows to eliminate avoidable blindness amongst Aboriginal people. Her first experience of Australia's vastness were massive duststorms, created by unsustainable farming by White people

Prof Langton not just one of Australia's greatest minds, but a stellar academic on every level. She acknowledged artists and postgraduate students who worked with her on this book. She has an important academic project coming up on repatriation of stolen Aboriginal remains.pic.twitter.com/amwrrpEjHw
