As I posted on 25 March, how many Indigenous academics have been promoted to Prof/Dean/ PVC levels & beyond? When will we see an Indigenous person appointed as a PVC or DVC in an area other than the Indigenous area? Indigenous people have disciplines & have the expertise!
We need to see Indigenous academics & professional staff moving through the ranks of universities & just not marginalised in the Indigenous centres, areas & units. Look around the universities & you can see this clear as day. I’ve seen it as a student.
How come white people think they can do everything & lead & run everything for everyone, including Indigenous mob, international mob, people of colour mob & mob with disabilities but none of us mob can do the same? Like we couldn’t? Or wouldn’t be objective? Like what?
