I’ve noticed the Melb Science March is entire run by white male futurists this year....

I've been seeing nothing good coming out of the latest round of proposed science marches. They haven't really listened or learned a thing in one year. A shame.

I harangued

That wasn't a haranguing! I've has worse with four brothers and four sisters.
I think we've taken on board a good bit of fair criticism. We'll learn, each time hopefully with lessons learnt for the new set of volunteer organisers.

Your March does seem diverse in the listed organisers. Sadly, Melb doesn’t seem on it. Sydney has
@hagsie among others who I’m sure are trying too. Perth organised by a PoC. Melb? Three white male futurists with political ambitions....1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

Sydney March has booked Renee Cawthorne, which is terrific. Everyone else present as White, cisgender & able bodied. How does this represent diversity of science or the people of NSW? Same issues of equity, accessibility and inclusion raised last yearhttps://othersociologist.com/sociology-of-the-march-for-science/ …

Just remember
@othersociology you see the people who have agreed to speak rather than those we have approached to speak who could not for one reason or another.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
Just remember
@hagsie the same reasons men give for not having gender balance at events are similar to the reasons people from majority groups give for not having diverse speakers Would you accept "we approached women but they weren't available or couldn't for some reason?"1 reply 1 retweet 2 likes -

I'd really love to meet and talk about strategies to ensure we reflect diversity of science. Perhaps you'd be willing to do that post-march?

I did this last year already with representatives from all the Oz marches as well as an extreme number of hours answering questions and providing resources publicly on Twitter. All of that is documented in the link provided. Diversity should never be an afterthought.
