Here's a White male "writer" who harassed me on-and-off last year due to Science March. I publicly called him out on stealing my work & he came to my blog on various pages for months to write silly things like this, responding to his own comments with pseudonyms. #socmoderationpic.twitter.com/eLtTCMM3T3

White male troll calling himself "youareanidiot" responds to a thread on my blog about sociology of gender. He says I am a "bully" for erroneously claiming "only women can breastfeed." He is defending his own comments, which I'd already responded to.

"You are a heterophobe (🙃), you hate white people and white men." Here is the same guy, defending another one of his comments, pretending to be a concerned reader. He writes for a trashy "news" website, and his bio says he is an Army reservist and father. 🤡 #socmoderationpic.twitter.com/4ebJI8uYnR

White male troll using the rather charming pseudonum "youareanidiot" responds to one of his own comments that promoted homophobia. He says; "How is he a homophobe? ...Turnur brought up serious concerns, you couldn't address them, so you tried to insult him. You are the bigot, you are a heterophoe, you hate white people and white men."

He uses the word "fact" a lot and then follows it up with Not A Fact.

Tbh I wonder why I spent so many hours of my life meticulously documenting sources to make a strong argument when I could have just participated in an “educated debate” like this one

Medical facts don't need documentation. They just are. There. Floating above us. Waiting to be evoked by dudebros in ad hominem attacks. Goddess give us the confidence of a poorly-read White man who repeats the status quo as if they invented something interesting.pic.twitter.com/TgwaSSgXd1

The last person I heard about doing messed up stuff like that was stalking the person he was doing it to. Not saying it lightly. I know you can take care of yourself, but I'll worry and be thinking of you just the same. Super creepy.

I’ve noticed the Melb Science March is entire run by white male futurists this year....

I've been seeing nothing good coming out of the latest round of proposed science marches. They haven't really listened or learned a thing in one year. A shame.

I'm glad they seem to be doing better, but really, so many disabled scientists and activists call this out routinely (inc you, Mel) & shared resources ahead of last year's SciMarch. This shoudn't need any more chasing up; it should already be clearly in place. Le sigh.

It’s still patchy, depending on the volunteer crews locally.

Very much so. Each time will be different without good continuity of documentation and handover. Even then we'll still need good advocates so that under stress of organising something new the concepts are not overlooked. Few volunteers increase the risk of something overlooked.
