Hello everyone. Hope you had a strident day being strident.
The Chief Scientist hates it when women in science talk about inequality because it detracts from "progress."
49% of undergrad STEMM students are women. Only 21% of senior professors of STEMM are women. #StridentWomenpic.twitter.com/orCs1j4cQE

@ScienceChiefAu publishes a few documents that exclude life sciences in STEM. My take? He’s failing dismally on his KPIs for increasing#s of women in STEM. He’ll change the definition (ie add life sciences where#s of women are high) to meet his KPI. -
Eg most reports here don’t include life / health sciences in the definition of STEM: http://www.chiefscientist.gov.au/category/science-and-research/ocs_reports/ …

To be clear, I agree life & health sciences are part of STEMM. But in this case I think
@ScienceChiefAu is being willfully deceptive - changing the definition to cover his organization’s failure to increase#s of women in STEM (especially engineering).
