          "What happens in these type of pubic debates is the conflation of STIs & child sexual abuse." There is a high rate of STIs in remote communities. Majority occur among 16-29 year olds. Minority among 13-15 yo having sex w/ same age peers. In 2017, 5 cases in under 12s. -James Ward

          Uninformed debates that link STIs to needing to remove Aboriginal children from family can lead youth away from seeking assistance from health professionals. Children being abused need to be placed in safe care but system is failing Aboriginal communities. - James Ward
