This has been going on & on. Same comments. White people don't understand that colonising new places requires labour. Who supplies it? People who have suffered most under colonialism. "Starting over" on Mars won't overcome inequity that continues on Earth https://twitter.com/CouchMJ/status/974897173291610112 …

Indigenous people's knowledge aren't for others to use or to save us/"we." Non-Indigenous people have to pay the rent (reparations, treaty/makarrata), start truth-telling about history, & stop reproducing myths about colonisation, whether it's discussing Mars or anything else.

The odd thing about this is the notion that colonialism is a phenomenon unique to white people. How can you conceptualize expansionist states throughout history (Inca, Aztec, Protodynastic Egypt, etc) or Pacific Northwest Coast warfare, Bantu expansion, etc if you believe that?

You've grown up on stolen land but don't understand how colonialism works. Hence your circular logic that somehow Mars will be different. You don't want to see exploitation of labour for resources & development. I'll leave this conversation here as you're just repeating yourself.

It's an uninhabited planet. Who is violence being done to? Who is being stolen from?
