I've been asked by White editors/ managers to remove "White" as a descriptor for "White women" on equity & diversity publications & policy research, but no objections to "women of colour."

If I encountered the phrase "white women and POC," it would make me think that white women are more wanted than WOC unless I has strong reasons to suspect otherwise. Adjectives usually function to narrow down, not expand.
