Thanks to the people who were still sending me work emails on the evening of SATURDAY the 23rd of December - knowing I'm on holidays because I'd previously said so - and after me discussing my tremendous workload for the year.

Were they expecting replies right away?
Some expected me to action right away; others the first day I get back to work. Either way, both expectations are ill conceived and are bad practice for work/ life balance. 
People need to stop emailing during holidays.

I sometimes send emails during holidays because I don’t want to forget what I was going to write, but I make it clear that I don’t expect a response until some time after the holidays. What we need is way to schedule future delivery of email
