History of the term
#POC which has been eluded to elsewhere on the thread is a political movement to bring together people who are "othered" due to race. And it matters that this was started by women of colour!

Finally, I recognise that
#POC doesn't resonate with many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and some other Black people but for different reasons - anti-Blackness is pervasive across cultures. So I try to be mindful & tend to use the terms they use for themselves.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
