POC/Non white Australia followers: HALP!
We're making a #NotARace ep about how we relate to the term POC.
Do you self ID as POC? Why (not)? Does it work in Aus context?

I use it in context, because it's a handy term. I tend not to overuse it because I'm aware of connotations of erasure. I'm scared of using "non-white" bc I'm scared people will think I hate white people(?!). POC/WOC seems safer. No one will question my use of the term.
Hey Kelly! Non-White is still frequently used by academics in Australia. I've come to hate it & haven't used it in a few years. White people are not the default. We aren't defined by Whiteness/lack thereof.
