I've also given sole authorship to students when I did substantial theoretical framing & analysis. Not sure that was best now...
Nevertheless there's important conversations we need to have about ethical collaboration. Good idea code of conduct for good & poor conduct

Me too. And seen other projects that began with conversations in my office (w. students/postdocs) come to fruition without my involvement.
