      2/Different disciplines have diff standards on authorship, but if ANYONE, incl students, contributes substantially they need to be co-author

      My own group fluctuates in size (theoretical cosmology groups tend to be small) but I certainly expect and encourage senior students

      To pass on "know how" to junior peers that might be quite hands-on but fall short of coauthorship. (But gives raw material for job letters)

          I've also given sole authorship to students when I did substantial theoretical framing & analysis. Not sure that was best now...
