WW will also compare their experiences to racism to as proxy for "what's happening to me is REALLY bad" E.g. https://twitter.com/i/moments/872818895496892416 …

Love the study; but it is led by WW. I deeply respect them but they will get more respect & attention than Others who came before.
-
It is a fact we all know from experience & existing studies that WP are recognised for saying what
#WOC have sacrificed to have heard. -
YES! It becomes "real" or legitimized now.
-
Perfect summary. I've been thinking about this a lot overnight & will continue to reflect. Power imbalances replicated, despite useful data
-
You've said it perfectly. Sometimes hard to acknowledge inherent power & race dynamics without negating the results of the study.
-
And the competing pressures. 1/ Study is excellent; much needed esp for astro prof society; resonates deeply. 2/ WW led, so WP will listen..
-
3/ WM will latch onto reflection of 2 to undo benefit of 1. Pressure to support good work vs broader context- WW once again speaking for WOC
-
Can't let WP define this convo (importance of race & gender dynamics of who speaks & who is heard on inequity) but still tough.
