The article is ok but your question is far more important. Post is by/about about Whiteness & so the critique reproduces problems WOC face

Also doesn't take into consideration how difficult it is for WOC to share negative experiences in such a public forum.

Being an N=1 offers little protection when discussing racism, sexism & misogynoir in workplace. Esp if you speak out & receive no support.

Absolutely. It's tough to share. White women can expect other WW to support them. WOC can't count on this. Also fear career repercussions.

Risking microaggressions from WW diminishing WOC experiences & knowledge. WW led conversations unwelcoming (Women's March/ SciMarch).

Exactly. WW diminish experience or use WOC experiences 4 personal gain. I've seen & experienced it too many times to count. No real allyship

THIS times infinity! Using WOC's for personal gain. Exploitative.

WW will also compare their experiences to racism to as proxy for "what's happening to me is REALLY bad" E.g. https://twitter.com/i/moments/872818895496892416 …

And it's not the same or even comparable. Insulting to try to lump together these experiences. Sigh.

Yes! That it's a WW academic who studies race is a frustratingly perfect illustration of what's wrong with academia in full absurdity.

Exactly. Similar, the health disparities researchers who never mention SDOH, racism or structural & institutional practices which harm CoC.
