You're speaking absolute truth here. Allies & friends use their White privilege to improve inequity. It requires sacrifice. Not platitudes.

YES! Much of what people think/say about allies is the bare minimum of being a decent person. "Not racist" is not an achievement.

True, it's plain courtesy not to say bad things, but WP see that as a reason to be rewarded with praise for being open

WP think each generation will improve. Before they had full licence to discriminate openly. Now they know *sometimes* to be more subtle.
