my Welsh family have some fairly non-ordinary names, but no-one ever suggests they drop them.
Anglo-Australian people claim other ancestries (English/Scottish/Irish) b/c they want to be exotic. But don't respect non-Anglo differences

Bigger mix here in NZ. A bunch will call emselves 'european' but some will say 'nzers' and some do like pakeha (te reo for 'outside tribe')

I quite like pakeha - wish there was an Aus equivalent because j hate it when people refer to people like me as "real Strayans" bc we're not
