Remember what you take for granted as normal about race is very different for other groups depending on place & their social position.

Agree! Main reason why I looked at racism and race in UK for dissertation was to get outside UScentric analysis of race and nation.

Ah, how interesting! UK very different race and racism patterns again. There's no comparable category in AUS to BME, for example.

AUS does use "NESB"/non English speaking background and "CALD"/culturally and linguistically diverse, but mostly these are policy terms.

Right. Yea in UK was told by some academics they don't have a race problem like US either and that proved untrue real quick
