A pattern: write about gender inequity in science, White women follow me. Racism in society: WW unfollow. Same WW do this multiple times.

Don't mind who follows/unfollows, but I am a researcher & this trend is striking. White women scientists think they're not biased though.

I wonder if there's a code you could write to keep track; could anonymize and write paper on it.

Not that trend isn't obvious without quant data, but I keep learning the hard way that some people need quant to believe bias/isms.

Hmmm. I keep track of harassment incl by White women academics. But I'm not saving evidence of unfollowing; I just notice through my MTs

Yeah, just thinking aloud if you were so inclined. I'm sure what you're already saving is pretty damning. Ugh.

There is no gender equity without racial equality esp for #WOC in academia & in life. WOC are women & femmes. Anti-racism is important.

Unfollowing still means they read what you wrote. We know that changing beliefs is hard. We have to be open and to hear things over &over.

So follow, unfollow, follow, unfollow - those are re-exposures to new ideas. Marble steps wear down over time, rain wears away rock.

So whether we are trying to change ourselves or others, it can work. It's time and repetition.

Sometimes going through bad things makes us less empathetic. Every woman of a certain age has gone through some stuff. Keep posting truth.

Read an interesting comment yesterday about equality-centered activism (which WW support) vs justice-centered activism (which some WW fear).

It's amazing when WW can explain why sexism is invisible to men, but can't grasp how racism could be invisible to them because of privilege.

White women are the most pampered and hypocritical bunch in the entire world and that's not a generalisation.
