1/ Mandatory parental leave would be too constrictive. But improving the update of leave requires change, monitoring, promotion & support...
2/ e.g. having managers actively & positively promote leave policies to various groups (all women & men, single parents, LGBTQIA people)...
3/ funding complementary programs to support parental leave, e.g. research assistants so publications & grant requirements are maintained.
I think it's the only way to even the playing field - complimentary things don't work see AthenaSWAN - no one cared until the funding bodies
Made it a requirement for grants...I'm seeing similar things when it comes to disability..so I don't think the Unis will step up unless made
