Working in non academic science org with government clients and academic partners (for all, mostly men), always potential to be undermined.

For what I do I'm always going between academia and nonprofits (zoos, sanctuaries) and/or government institutes (NIH, primate centres)

Old friend stopped using her title because she worked with business execs. They didn't like calling her Dr. It was hurting her consultancy

Really does depend. With zoo keepers they know their animals so well, they're really the experts, so there I'm usually more informal
