I own the dvds and recently rewatched the series. Lots of interesting dynamics (smart young women) but limitations too (lack of diversity).

Definitely a let down. Show broke ground in many ways & spoke to many young women for lots of reasons.But it was lacking esp on reflection

Yeah. It was so groundbreaking and important. I can't ignore its downfalls obviously but Daria will always be a problematic fave.

YES. Same. I still love it but have many issues. Daria & Jane are still one of the best fictional depictions of friendships I enjoy.

I want to give props to Daria's mum - her career, probs with her daydreamer husband, r/s with her grown sisters. She was a layered character
