Yeah it was. And the woman who came onto her ignored her boundaries completely and talked to her as if Jane owed her intimacy.
Okay so stereotypical "aggressive lesbian." 
Jane was way cooler than that, one might have hoped, and deserved a less homophobic story.

Yep! The show had interesting things to say about heterosexuality. Daria & Tom had a great dynamic. But in the end show was heterosexist.

Daria talked about not wanting to have sex when everyone around her did. Important topic and I wonder if today theyd discuss asexuality too

Yes. While in some ways it could've come off as conservative it was thoughtfully done. Asexuality would be excellent to depict.
