When White minority women speak of non-racialised issue as "the biggest problem of our time" they are not practising intersectionality

They will make racist comparisons without seeing this as racism. They compare non-racial issues to racial segregation, a tool of colonialism

They compare institutional racism to their non-racialised minority identity, failing to see how POC in their communities are doubly impacted

This is not why intersectionality exists. In fact, most people who say they are "intersectional feminists" haven't read the original works.

That's okay because these works are academic; but they consume White women's popular writing on intersectionality & emulate. That's not okay

White minority women who exempt themselves from critical thinking on race are doing White feminism even if they say "intersectionality."

Evolution of all minority studies by women is this: mainstream scholarship, dominated by White able-bodied cis-het middle class men.>>

Minority White women who practice White feminism can be identified by who they cite, collaborate with, supervise, employ & even on Twitter.

There are definitely White women from majority and minority backgrounds who do NOT practice White feminism. See their actions & networks.

So that's an explanation to say: I witness and recognise your frustration. It's a pattern that's endemic in many communities. It is complex.

b/c of the ways we are policed & the complexity of power. So it's so important to discuss and *verbalize* these issues and these patterns
