Only reason journalist knows is @ScienceMarchDC told them. Had organisers understood request is unethical they should not have shared this.
I’m sorry, how do you know that M4S put the journalist in touch with the George Mason U team?
And wouldn’t it be ethically possible for M4S to e-mail their list with a request to opt in, without disclosing e-mails?
Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like there’s lots of scope for a journalist oversimplifying something that wouldn’t be problematic
