But stock photo industry is an insidious & increasingly parasitic business whose business model depends on paying NO ONE fairly.
Stock photography suffers from being on the outside of just about every field it depicts except perhaps corporate office-work
2) depict women as passive, sad victims, rather than agents of change or complex; 3) Reinforce stereotypes; eg WOC in "poor" backgrounds. 
This is my genuine real struggle for work. @wocintechchat are great for tech but nothing really exists for science. 
Hideous example recently, when Closing the Gap report was released. An org used a photo of "African" ppl instead of Indigenous Australians

Even when media seeking photos of actual researchers - they want them to stand in lab, even if that is *not at all* the type of work they do

Yep! I had to explain that I didn't actually have swipe access to the lab as I had no need to ever be in there!
