Muslim women who embrace religion are not rejecting "modern" values; in fact, many embrace egalitarianism & other human rights values.
Can't agree with you, as religion, almost by default, doesn't promote human rights or egalitarianism.
That does exactly nothing to prevent religious people from promoting human rights & egalitarianism. Don't erase those people who do.
Very true. But religion isn't necessary by any stretch of the imagination.
Religion may not be necessary to you - but it is to billions of other people. What do you think you're doing on this thread exactly?
Arguing an alternate perspective, or are only agreeing voices allowed? If so, I'll unfollow and not bother you any more.
I find it odd that nobody bats an eye when a devout Christian woman talks human rights, given Christians' [recent] history.
It's almost as if religiosity and human rights weren't mutually exclusive! (full disclosure: I have my issues w/religion. But, context).
...People who practice religion are not monocultural (same as atheists). Some religious people do good; others don't. Same in science.
