That gets even worse in a country like mine. Here we have med. Dr., but a phd in any profession is also a Dr. and a Dr. is a titel.

Like a 'von' (aristocratic titel).So unlike my diploma or a master degree,you can get the Dr. beeing added to your name. So in your passport

or your driver's license it says "Dr. + your name". And people here love titels.Every 2nd politician and most managers etc. are Dr.
