Yes, I am now Dipl. (diploma) geologist, once I have finished my Dr./Phd I would be Dr. (rer. nat.=natural sciences) of geology.

A Dr. (titel) is sort of the equivalent to a phd and unlike a Master (degree) you can choose to add it to your name. It is not an aristocr.1
